Preparing for the HSC English Trials

In this episode, Jesse interviews teacher Donna about her top tips for students preparing for their trials.

Donna emphasises the importance of getting mentally prepared and having a sense of certainty before the exams. She advises students to make decisions ahead of time, such as knowing the structure of the papers and having a strategy for answering the questions.

Donna also highlights the need for a deep understanding of the texts and the ability to articulate that understanding in well-written essays. She discusses the importance of practicing different writing styles and reflecting on compositional choices. Finally, Donna offers insights and tips for Module C, emphasising the need to be prepared for different scenarios.

Halfway through Year 12… and this is where things can start to feel real.
