The missing ingredients for HSC Success

Jul 13, 2017

Let’s be honest.

How well prepared is your child for the HSC exams? Do you know what it will take for them to achieve what they want? Do you believe it’s about how many times they write their notes out, how many hours they spend studying, how well they perform in their homework or how well intentioned they are?

In our 20 years of working with HSC students we could tell you hundreds of stories about the well intentioned student who worked hard, tried their best but just couldn’t get the results they wanted. So what were they doing wrong?

It comes down to how well the student has developed certain Key Behaviours and applied them to their studies. At HSC CoWorks our 6 Key Behaviours are gospel. We strive to keep them front of mind with our students, staff, parents, ourselves, developing them into hard-wired attributes which you will be using long after your final HSC Exam.

Elon Musk famously said he “learnt to build rocket ships by reading books”. Thomas Edison proclaimed that “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”. Albert Einstein admitted that “It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer.”

No student was born a brilliant essay writer, apt at mathematical equations, experienced at managing the pressure of examinations. The student who succeeds is the student who commits themselves to the Key Behaviours. Having a strong vision, planning, daily effective studying and pure determination is what will make that physics problem possible or improve their essay writing skills.

At HSC CoWorks we will help you develop these qualities through supportive coaching, planning & accountability structures, stretch & challenge tasks, improved study technique and focus.
