Cool Company To Work For #2: Nous Group

Jan 31, 2014

The number one reason for our passion around great HSC results for our students is so that they can open the doors to exciting opportunities where they literally love their job so they never have to work a day in their life. At HSC CoWorks our coaches continually stretch and challenge our students, not just providing HSC Tuition, but preparing students for success after the HSC. We actively encourage students to look ahead not just to University but also to their dream career within an inspiring and leading Company. Having this type of long term vision is not only encouraging but is one of the most successful tools our students can use in order to push themselves out of their comfort zone towards a great HSC result.

This Melbourne based management consultant company, Nous Group, is rated as one of the top places to work for young people by BRW and after watching this video I wanted to join them!

From their Website: We offer the opportunity to work intensely with stimulating colleagues on challenging and influential projects, and still have flexibility in your work environment.

As you climb Mount HSC remember that you’re not working hard so you can quote Shakespeare to your friends at a party, it’s all about creating exciting opportunities and making the most of our short time here on earth.

Or as the guru Seth Godin says “Life’s too short” is repeated often enough to be a cliche, but this time it’s true. You don’t have enough time to be both unhappy and mediocre. It’s not just pointless, it’s painful. Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you ought to set up a life you don’t need to escape from.”

Year 11 exams are often the first time students realise something isn’t quite working.
❌Hours of study.. Still forgetting everything in the exam.
❌Understand it at home...But freeze under pressure.
❌Trying hard...But overwhelmed balancing every subject at once.
The reality is that succeeding isn’t just about working harder. It’s about learning how to prepare, how to study, and how to perform when it matters.
At HSC CoWorks, we coach students to build the habits, confidence and exam skills they’ll rely on for their Year 11 exams and throughout Year 12.

When students think about preparing for Year 12, they often picture buying new stationery, organising folders, or enjoying one last holiday before the “real work” begins. The reality is that the students who thrive in Year 12 don’t wait until the first day of school to get organised. They start before the year even begins. While many Year 11 graduates spend the holidays doing a very minimal amount, the highest-performing students use that time to build a foundation that gives them confidence, clarity and momentum from the very first week.

Moving from Sydney to Canberra was one of the biggest shifts Tara has made in her life, and her honest advice?... “You have to get out of your comfort zone”! However the independence, the new routines, and the chance to meet new friends are absolutely worth the initial uncertainty. In this episode, Tara discusses her degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Philosophy - a brand new program at ANU - and also what campus life is really like.
